Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle is one of the most controversial wrinkle creams I've ever come across. It has a hefty share of negative reviews which I haved shared at the bottom.

I had a chance to try it for a full month - the results? Meh. Average at best for the high price you're paying (maybe my expectations were too high?).

The biggest complaint by far is the PRICE. Although the reviews are a little outdated (dating back from '07) the price is still pretty high. $75 these days, back then it was $100+. I was able to find a better deal on amazon. I'm not sure if they've lowered the price because of the negative reviews or if the price just drops over time.

Either way buying the single 1 fl oz bottle is NOT your best bet. The Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Kit comes with a 0.5 fl oz bottle of Unwrinkle, along with 3 other Unwrinkle products: the Unwrinkle peel pads, Unwrinkle Night, and Unwrinkle Lip Balm. At $68 I think this is some kind of PTR discount: they want to make the deal so good so you try out all their products and get hooked.

Final Verdict on Peter Thomas Roth Unwrinkle

What Others Thought about the Kit and the Solo Cream

Here's a review on the $68 PTR Un-Wrinkle kit:

"This stuff is a godsend - I noticed a difference the very next day after I used it. Buying these products on their own can be crazy expensive - it's so nice that they put everything you need into one kit, in a smaller size - I only use it once or twice a week, so the smaller sized products are perfect.

The lip gloss is really the only thing I don't care for - it does work, and it smell really good - but it's very waxy and a little clumpy. I can't put it on on a date because I'm afraid I'll get "goop lip" or something, and it really does feel like there's this impenetrable layer of wax on my mouth - NOT for kissing. I use this at work, so I'm still getting the anti-wrinkle benefits w/o worrying if a guy is going to walk away thinking I'm a gross kisser = )"

On PTR Unwrinkle cream:

"I used it. Its ok. Its no miracle cream. I still have wrinkles but I guess they might look slightly better. Its very expensive and only lasted me about 5 weeks twice a day."

shanaya @ bellasugar

"This bottle has lasted me for 3 months and I am not 1/2 way through it. I'm not sure how the other person went through it in 5 weeks... I get facials regularly and the esthetician commented on how I have very few wrinkles and asked if I used Botox (which I don't). I will say though, if I had to pay $100 when I bought this cream, I would probably look elsewhere. I think the price is a bit steep."

commenter @ bellasugar

"This product is a little costly but it is worth every penny. I use in the morning and evening bef...ore I moisturize. You will notice improvement immediately and the longer you use it, the better your skin looks."

mscougar @ totalbeauty

"I bought this item first time on ebay for one third of its store price. I would say its a good moisturizer for oily skin thats all. I dont have much wrinkle but what ever I have it didn't make any difference to them. I used one 1 oz. bottle and one 2 oz bottle ( all bought from ebay) . A 1 oz. bottle runs for about 1 month.... No noticeable difference. Unless spending $120 is not a big deal for you for a very average moisturizer dont waste your money. there are grocery store products with one tenth of a price will do the same thing."

Does DDF Brightening Cleanser Seriously Work?

I've had annoying acne for years. I've tried all kinds of over the counter products: neutrogena, cliniuqe, clearasil, proactiv...you name it I've most likely tried it out on my skin. Pretty much nothing worked.

I gave up on the cheaper OTC products that I had been relying on all those years and decided to make an educated investment when I bought DDF Brightening Cleanser. I'm sure glad I did.

My acne started to clear up just a couple weeks after using the cleanser sparingly. My skin tone improved and looked more brighter (I guess that's why they call it Brightening!). The lines around my face are a little finer - this cleanser ended up doing a lot more than just cleansing.

What Did Other Women Think About DDF Brightening Cleanser?

I read a ton of reviews and most were positive. The most common complaint I've seen is the price. 4/5 @ makeup alley and 4.3/5 @ buzzillions.

If you've got acne-prone skin this reviewer recommends it. Not only because it works well but because it lasts you a long time:

"The bottle is big and you need very little to wash the face, this will probably last me forever... Ive used it two weeks straight and you cant even tell it's been used. I will definitely repurchase this product and look forward to trying more of the DDF line. The thing I like most is that it has cut back on my breakouts and has unclogged a lot of the pores on my chin and gotten a rid of a lot of the extra flakage and debris on my face that I thought was just a part of my skin type."

jenkenne @ makeupalley

Be prepared to use a good moisturizer with the Brightening Cleanser if you've got overly dry skin.

"Ok ladies, no bueno on this one, especially not everyday. My skin looked so parched after a few days, it wasn't pretty and I was only using it at night. I may keep it around for a once a week deep cleaning or just use it as a really expensive body wash..If you have dry skin, please be forewarned that this product will most certainly dry you out more so have a good moisturizer ready"

rbyars1 @ makeupalley

"I've used the product for a couple of weeks...my age spots or sun spots seem to be lightening. My skin feels smoother. I don't find this product to be too drying. I would recommend this cleanser for anyone 40+ with sun damage."

Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant: Uncovering the Truth

I ended up trying the Dermalogica based on a friends recommendation. My skin is quite sensitive so I was looking for something that wouldn't be too harsh. A good friend of mine recommended Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant and she let me use hers for a while.

I used it for just a week and only applied it about 3 times. At first it was hard to believe that this was actually an exfoliator. Where are the granules? I couldn't see them, they were way too small!

But after I used it I could tell it was definitely working. My skin was left feeling rejuvenated, a nice fresh feeling. Best of all it wasn't irritated like other OTC exfoliators tend to do to my skin.

What Others Have to Say About Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant

This reviewer brings up a good point. Although the price tag on Dermalogica products is higher than your typical over-the-counter skincare products, they're going to last you a much longer time.

"I like the Dermalogica line. Paying almost $40 for products is stickershock to me as much as it is to many of you out there, but it is worth the money. You don't need to use a lot of the product so it stretches out over many months and can be gentle on the face."

Samantha Jones @ amazon

Because of the ingredient, you might get an interesting stinging feeling. Others have reported this as well:

"...Beware that it does sting a bit, but hydroxy masks do that, and at least you know it's working. Even though it stings, my face isn't red afterwards, so like daily microfoliant, it's effective but gentle. But only use this cream mask 1-2 times a week max."

cjiana @ lookfantastic

The granules in this exfoliant are so small you can barely see them with the naked eye. Considering the pores of your skin are small, effective exfoliators should be like this in order to get the best effect.

"This exfoliant is actually a facial scrub, a very gentle one. I got to say, I love this product! ...Kind of hard to believe that this is an exfoliant, because I cant really see the granules. I also doubted that it would exfoliates, since the scrub is so tiny. However, it did clean up my face, leaving it fresh. And the best thing is, the mosturizer I apply after exfoliating, seems to absorb real well into my face, as I can feel my face tighter when I wake up in the morning."

Shiseido Bio Performance Advanced Super Revitalizer Cream: Revealing The Facts

During my time researching Shiseido Bio Performance Advanced Super Revitalizer Cream I found almost (emphasis on almost, will get into the negatives shortly) all very positive reviews.

I found 19 5 star reviews at macys reviews but I think these are totally fake - how could even the best product get that many positive reviews in a row? Everyone has their own opinion, I don't think its possible!

Like I just mentioned, I did find one negative review in my research. It was from a woman with already oily skin and I think this shiseido product was just a little bit too much for her particular skin-type.

"For me this was another example of a moisturiser for dry skin that is just too much. Dry skin doesn't need heavy it needs moisture. It is why I keep going back to moisturisers designed for oily skin (such as the Pureness) as they feel as if they soak in and then your left with only the feeling of bare skin."

goatlegs @ eopinions

No doubt if you have extra-oily skin you might want to check out a sample version of this product first just to see if its actually a good match for your skin. Something like what this woman did:

"I am not inclined to spend big bucks on high end creams or beauty treatments. I had heard a lot of great things about Shiseido in general so I bought some samples from an ebay seller. ...this one was a real standout!!! It is the one I have actually gone out and paid full price for. I use this as an allover face cream and as an eye cream. It has a very rich texture which would seem not to work on my oily skin, but it does. Your skin actually drinks it up and everything seems more plump afterward. I have been using it twice daily for 6 months and see a visible softening of the lines around my eyes. I used to have puffy eyes in the morning and this had reduced that greatly. While it is expensive, it is so rich that a little does go a long way. I would much rather save to buy this fantastic beauty product that really works, than to fill my drawer with cheaper, ineffective products!"

Is Dermalogica Super Rich Repair A Rip-Off?

It was a little difficult to come up with some unbiased reviews for Dermalogica Super Rich Repair because everywhere I went the reviews sounded fake/contrived.

I did a bit more digging and couldn't find anything negative really, most what I read were positive reviews (those that seemed legit).

I'm a big fan of Dermalogica products because most actually work for me and they aren't terribly expensive as long as you know where to buy them.

I did eventually end up trying Super Rich Repair but only because a friend let me borrow it for just a little while to check it out. I used it around my eyes and mouth and noticed it really improves the complexion of where you use it.

"My skin is maturing and dry (35 to 40 yrs old). This product when used with other antioxidant serums, has been very effective. My facial skin is looking more supple and feels more healthy. Effects were noticed after a few days."

Zeeksyte @ Amazon

"Sometimes I even use the Super Rich as a spot treatment around my nose and chin (my dry spots), due to how intense it is! The Super Rich does tend to be a bit costly, but online sites such as Amazon sell it at a discounted price."
