Dermalogica skin smoothing cream is recommended for drier or prematurely-aging skin. Its a medium-weight cream that maintains skin's moisture balance while improving its texture. Deep-moisturizing lecithin and aloe gel nourish while extracts of mallow, Cucumber and arnica soothe and hydrate the skin, Antioxidant grape seed extract plus vitamins A, C and E help shield skin from environmental factors. Its free of artificial fragrance or color. The cream is a little heavy but not as much as others and generally, the reports are good. It would appear however that it falls a little short of the mark for its intended purpose; the drier, prematurely aged skin.
There are a couple of things you should keep in mind however. First some report that there can be a slightly unpleasant odor when its first applied. This is a little surprising coming from a cosmetics company with this kind of experience but the number of people making this claim could be explained by personal preferences. Most refer it to Vick's Vapor rub. As to whether or not it really works, well yes sort of but it appears that it doesn't really do anything special for those with extra dry skin or prematurely aged skin. And that was the point yes? The other most often repeated complaint was about the price. You should give this a try if your looking for a new moisturizer but wait until a sale.

I have used Dermalogica products for a number of years now and I doubt very seriously that I would ever use anything else. The skin smoothing cream is a medium weight cream that I use in the winter months and when it is spring and summer I switch to Active Moist. My skin always feels great.

My skin is dry and of course its gets even drier in the winter. I think I tried this out in the summer as I was looking for a new moisturizer. although this looks a bit thick I actually didn't find it to be really moisturizing for my skin, I felt that I needed more moisture. if your skin is normal/dry this would be great as it really does do what it says, and Dermalogica is a really good brand for skincare. And I also recommend that you try out testers first before purchasing!

I generally like dermalogica products, not all, but most. I’ve been using it on-off for the past 20 odd years, coming back to it again & again once I weary of whatever brand that I happen to be using. It’s one of the few brands that my skin seems to have no sensitivity to, & I love the scent of their products + the simple steps. I use a total of 4 products daily – Pre Cleanse, Ultra Calming Cleanser, Multi Active Toner, this moisturiser & Daily Microfoliant, which I use on alternate days; with a masque thrown in for days when my skin feels dry. This simple regime has improved the condition of my skin. Earlier on, due to bad advice & hormonal changes, my skin was so uncomfortable to live with, being super oily or super tight & dry, prone to rashes.
This moisturiser was recommended to me by my esthetician (just found her! I went to some one else before I found her, who wasn’t as good) & it’s been great as both my day & night moisturiser. I have sensitve, oily but dehydrated skin, & it has provided me with just the right amount of moisture, esp for the drier areas. What the esthetician recommended me was to apply on the drier parts of my face 1st, then sweep any remaining moisturiser onto my oilier t-zone. & I use a very small amount each time. That has worked very well for me. My skin is still oily, but not disgustingly so, & best of all, my dehydrated parts are just nice & comfortable. With just 4 products, my skin care woes are resolved, which goes to show you don’t need a slew of products to have healthy looking skin.
