Be assured that there is no miracle cure to the onset of aging.  You can’t reverse it, despite all your chagrin.  You can, however, delay it.  Ever wondered why some people like Dick Clark and Cher don’t look like their age?  The former can thank his genes for the privilege, and Cher can thank modern science for hers.  On the other hand, you who have the short end of the stick on both counts can opt for sufficient nutrition, and you can be sure that this never fails in delivering the goods.  While there are a plethora of nutrients which you should take to remain young, six of these provide the most benefit.

Vitamin A is an antioxidant which is probably very familiar, due to a certain brand of topical anti-wrinkle product.  Retinoids, a vitamin A variant, stimulates the production of collagen in the skin, leading to a suppler complexion, and reduced wrinkling and age spots.  The B complex vitamins also aid in dealing with your body’s toxins, Anti-Aging Vitaminsincluding free radicals which are a blight to all fitness buffs nowadays.  It enhances the function of your blood cells, and ensures that they are properly circulated within your system.

Actually, all of the vitamins discussed here are antioxidants to a certain extent, but none can compare with vitamin C when it comes to sheer versatility.  Taken at the right amounts, vitamin C ensures that your tissues form at ideal conditions, and since your skin is the largest organ in your body, it should share in the benefits, with reduced wrinkles and an improved complexion.  It also efficiently breaks down free radicals in an attempt to maintain your body’s normal functions.  Women can get more benefit from vitamin D, as it prevents bone mass breakdown, a condition which eventually ends up as osteoporosis in old age.  Vitamin D also reduces body inflammation as caused by stress, and may actually temporarily stop the clock for those who regularly take enough of it.

Vitamin E is an essential antioxidant since it deactivates free radicals so as they pose no threat to the system, and so that the body can easily flush them out.  It also protects the surrounding membranes of the cells, preventing damage to the enzymes, and reducing the chances for cell breakdown – in other words, prolonged youth.  Vitamin K, the dark horse of the list, is only recently gaining recognition as a powerful antioxidant, and with enough intake, it can reduce the chances for degenerative diseases which are associated with aging, like Alzheimer’s disease, clogged arteries, and osteoporosis.

So before you head out to the mall in anticipation of the next wonder drug which wouldn’t work, pay attention to your body first; it may be telling you that you have to start from within in order to look good without.

For years now nutritionists have been tying to make the connection between vitamin deficiencies and common maladies such as premature aging and in recent years their claims have been getting backed up by more and more raw data coming out of medical research facilities.

In simple terms, what has been found is that vitamins do have a direct effect on the way that we feel and look and if you are not getting enough of certain vitamins in particular, the deficiencies can in fact, hasten your aging process. Studies of peoples eating habits have determined that people just aren’t eating enough of the right foods to get all of their vitamins naturally and this is why people in general, really should be taking some type of vitamin supplement.

Anti-Aging VitaminsIts the anti oxidant laden foods such as kale and mustard greens that people are tending to miss out on and they are so important to a healthy diet. So you may be asking, will a healthy diet and a proper vitamin supplement turn back the clock? The answer to that is yes if you are currently suffering from vitamin and nutrient deficiencies.

You can increase the color, tone and complexion of your skin and loose the dark circles under your eyes with vitamins but as far as drastic wrinkle reduction goes, you are going to have to turn to other sources for that. What are some of the vitamins that have been demonstrated to be more important to the aging process than others?

The fact is, that they are all important and for instance while vitamin D and calcium
aren’t mentioned in most reports that cover the topic of vitamins and anti aging aging, people with a vitamin D deficiency run the risk of degenerative bone ailments that can land them in a wheel chair. So, rather then pick through the vitamin list and only take the ones that are good for your skin, take a high grade multi vitamin and your oil based vitamin supplements such as A and E and you should be alright.
